Twin sisters Elsa and Margarita “Maggie” Guzman — also known online as the L.A. Twins or Dodger Twins — have built a world around music, comedy, Chicana identity, and unapologetic Los Angeles pride. Their videos mix rapid-fire humor, Dodger blue, East L.A. attitude, and a style that feels equal parts family party, stadium parking lot, and Whittier Boulevard cruise.

But behind the viral clips is a deeper story.

Born and raised in East Los Angeles, the sisters began performing music as teenagers, stepped away from the industry, pursued higher education, and eventually returned to entertainment on their own terms. Today, Las Mil Amores are independent artists, content creators, performers, and cultural storytellers who have turned their humor and internet presence into something that connects across generations.

TodayLA spoke with Las Mil Amores about why Dodgers culture carries so much meaning in Los Angeles, and what they want people to understand about the women behind the viral persona.

Why do you think Dodgers culture means so much to communities across East L.A. and L.A. overall?

Las Mil Amores:The Dodgers are bigger than baseball in L.A. For a lot of families, especially in East L.A., it’s tradition, identity, and community. Generations grew up bonding over Dodgers games — grandparents, parents, kids all together.

There’s also history tied to Chavez Ravine and the displacement of Mexican-American families, so the relationship is emotional and layered. Supporting the Dodgers became part of L.A. culture, especially for working-class Latino communities who saw themselves reflected in that loyalty and pride.

What do you want people to understand about Las Mil Amores beyond the viral clips and internet persona?

Las Mil Amores:We want people to understand there’s real intention and heart behind what we do. The humor and the viral moments are fun, but underneath that is storytelling, vulnerability, and a deep love for our culture.

We care about representing women from communities like ours in a way that feels honest and multidimensional. We’re not just characters online — we’re artists, daughters, students, dreamers, and people who genuinely love connecting through music.

More Than a Moment
