Los Angeles County is making it easier for Valley residents to get to the beach — and the World Cup action — without dealing with traffic or parking.

Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath announced that the Topanga Canyon Beach Bus will add a temporary stop at the Venice Beach Fan Zone on July 10 and July 11, giving riders a direct connection from the San Fernando Valley to one of the city’s biggest beachside World Cup gathering spots.

The added stop will be located near Windward Avenue and Main Street, expanding the regular route that already connects Canoga Park, Woodland Hills, Topanga Canyon, Topanga Beach, and Downtown Santa Monica.

The best part: the fare is just $1.

A $1 Valley-to-Beach Ride

The Topanga Canyon Beach Bus runs year-round, seven days a week, and offers a scenic route from the west Valley to the coast through Topanga Canyon.

Regular beachbound stops include:

Canoga Avenue / RocketdyneTopanga Canyon Boulevard / Victory BoulevardTopanga Canyon Boulevard / Ventura BoulevardViewridge Road / Topanga Canyon BoulevardTopanga General StoreTopanga BeachOcean Avenue / Colorado AvenueDowntown Santa Monica Metro E Line Station

For World Cup weekend, riders can continue toward the Venice Beach Fan Zone, giving Valley residents a low-cost way to reach the coast without driving through beach traffic or hunting for parking.

Daily Schedule

The bus offers three beachbound trips each day.

The first trip leaves Canoga Avenue / Rocketdyne at 9:30 AM, arriving at the Downtown Santa Monica Metro E Line Station around 10:38 AM.

Additional beachbound departures leave the Valley around 1:00 PM and 3:45 PM.

Return trips back to the Valley begin from the Downtown Santa Monica Metro E Line Station at 10:55 AM, 2:25 PM, and 5:15 PM, with the final bus reaching Canoga Avenue / Rocketdyne around 6:20 PM.

Service is subject to weather, traffic, and road conditions.

Fare and Transit Info

The fare is listed as $1, with exact fare or TAP card accepted.

For route information, riders can contact the Topanga Canyon Beach Bus transit information line at 818-504-7270 between 9 AM and 6 PM.

Why It Matters

The temporary Venice stop comes as Los Angeles continues to host major World Cup-related events and fan gatherings across the region. By extending the Beach Bus route, LA County is giving Valley residents and visitors a cheaper, easier way to reach the coast while reducing traffic pressure around Venice and Santa Monica.

For anyone in Woodland Hills, Canoga Park, or Topanga looking for a beach day or a World Cup watch party, this might be one of the easiest transit deals in LA right now.
